Following is a list of answers to frequently asked questions . . .
Q: How do I submit a miracle story?
A: Click the Submit Your Story link on any page.
Q: Can I submit more than one story?
A: Yes, but please fill out a new submission form each time by clicking on the Submit Your Story button. We consider one story at a time per author, so please don't submit a second story until you've heard from us about your first submission. We'll send you an immediate e-mail notifying you that we're considering your story, and a second email later on telling you if we think we can use your story.
Q: How will I know if my story is picked for It’s a God Thing?
A: We will notify you via e-mail. This may take several months.
Q: How old do I have to be to submit a story?
A: Only old enough to share your story with others. If you are a minor, your parents or legal guardian will need to cosign your contract.
Q: Can I submit a story anonymously?
A: No. You must submit a story, and sign any subsequent contract, with your real name. However, if your story is published in It’s a God Thing, you can choose the name by which you will be credited in the book, including choosing to be credited anonymously.
Q: Does my story need to be overtly religious?
A: It’s a God Thing books are compilations of true stories that encourage people by very clearly showing God at work through His obvious intervention in the stories being told.
Q: Can the miracle in my story be a religious conversion?
A: We would argue that every conversion is a miracle! But unless there is an accompanying event that is a miracle in itself, we probably wouldn’t be able to use it in this series.
Q: How long should my story be?
A: The stories in the It’s a God Thing books will be approximately 1,250 words long. However, your submission can be longer or shorter than that, although we would like to see a minimum of 500 words. See our Submit Your Story page for more information.
Q: What will you pay me for my story?
A: You’ll receive $200.00 as well as ten free copies of the book in which your story appears. Visit the Submission Process page for more information.
Q: Can I mention my nonprofit in my story?
A: If your story is published, we would love to provide a link to your organization at the end of the book so that readers can continue interacting with what they’ve read.
Q: Can I submit my story to another publication if it has not yet been chosen for It’s a God Thing?
A: Yes, provided you have not signed a contract with us. Please notify us so that we can remove it from our list.
Q: Can I reprint stories from It’s a God Thing?
A: No. Due to copyright issues, you may not use or reprint any published It’s a God Thing story without written permission. However, you can visit our Featured Story page and share a link to that story with friends and family.
Q: Will there be other miracle books?
A: As long as we keep sharing more miracle stories with each other, there will be more miracle books.
Q: How do I update my contact information?
A: Contact us using the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page.
Q: What if I have a question that isn’t answered on this website?
A: Don’t hesitate to contact us with the Contact Us link at the bottom of every page.
Q: I'm a published author, so can I submit a finished story?
A: Sure—but our team will still work with you to make sure it works well with the rest of the stories in It’s a God Thing. We rewrite all the stories we publish so that they fit our specific goals and vision for the book, so every story is reviewed by our writing and editing team—from those written by professionals to those written by someone who has never written a word before.
